Hi, could someone please help me with the following, I've got a st170 engine to go into a mk4 escort, I've bought a ib5 from a ka rear starter hydraulic clutch but when fitted to the st170 engine the bell housing bolts only line up on the top bolts the bottom ones are out, am I missing something hear as I thought the ib5 was a direct fit to the St lump, hope that makes sense and someone can help with some info

Hi escort box is better to use.. cable clutch and ratios are better suited imo done a few conversions over the years... like a mk5 mk6 mk7 gearbox... if you get stuck just let me know

 

Thanks for the reply, I've already converted the clutch pedal to hydraulic now cylinder is all fitted etc, I'm just confused with the ib5 bolt pattern do people just not put the bolts in the bottom or something

 

people may just leave bolts out tbh
