Default Escort Van MK6 Steering Wheel Swap

Hi, new to all this, just got a 52 plate Escort to do up and, amongst other things, the steering wheel is grotty as.
Was wondering how possible it would be to fit a wheel from, say, something like a mk6 Fiesta (fairly cheap to buy)? Will they fit straight onto the column, and presumably there will be fun and games with the airbags in them.
Any mileage in the above, or what have others done instead? Interested to hear any ideas.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look. Just the later Ford wheels are available for peanuts (more or less) and seem to be much more common.
May buy one and see what it takes to fit one, so long as the 'splines' fit up ok and the airbag will fit and wire up it may be worth a shot. If not can sell the wheel for what I pay for it.

splines and depth are different on other fords hence why you will run into issues unless you go aftermarket but then boss kits are expensive

Ok thanks for that, I wasn't sure about the interchangeability but sounds like a lot of hassle. I'll try to find a decent MK6 wheel instead.
