Default Woo Hoo!!!!!

Some good luck for a change!

As Quickie & Paul know i've had a problem with water getting in the boot and causing the carpet to be damp, thus causing my condensation issue.

I took the car along to my mates garage on saturday night and took out the boot carpet to try and source the problem. After sucking up about 3 litres of water from the carpet I realised that wherever the water was coming from needed to be fixed asap as Mr Rust was on the brink of saying hello.

Narrowed it down to 2 possible sources:

1) Rear light seals (although no visable / obvious leaks)
2) Rear wiper jet hose inside the boot lid, this hasnt worked since I had the bodywork done a year ago.

I decided to tackle both problems then at least I can be sure it'll be ok once and for all. I went to the Spares Day @ Donny yesterday but not one person could help with the light seals.
Spoke to Tony F, and he thought they were still available from Ford. So I paid a visit to my Dealer at lunchtime today, they couldn't help, part discontinued, but they gave me details of a chap at Sky Ford in Hemel. He also couldn't help, but passed me onto Stripe Star Ltd @ Ford Chorley and hey presto they have two in stock!!!!!!! So I should be getting them in the next few days yey!

good luck, you could of always tried using silicone sealer, just run a thin line around the lense and let it being to go off then fit it back in the car This is how I sorted the leak on my old 1600i

Silicone was the back up option if I couldnt get the proper seals. Considering they are only Ł4.03 each I thought sod it, go for the proper thing
