Good morning, I write from Italy. I am a Ford enthusiast. I have a 1986 Rs turbo Escort. Lately I got hold of two wonderful cars:

Escort RS 2000 150hp from 1993

Rover 216 GTI with Honda d16a9 engine with 130hp






I will have to 'choose one to keep to process it in anticipation of some track days. My intention is to leave the engine as original as possible (to limit a complete exhaust and remap) and play on weight reduction and trim. I tried both and as a motor I like them both a lot. The 1.6 130hp honda engine has a crazy sound and limiting at 7500. The 2000 engine of the escort is more full-bodied at low revs instead.

Which car do you recommend to be lightened to the maximum and equipped with a set-up for any track days? obviously for the sake of fun without too many claims!

 

Personally i would put the escort in a garage and forget about it for 15 years ,and play with the rover
