Default alternator help

Hi guys.
I'm after a new alternator for my 1.8si cabriolet as on full load (lights heated screen and stereo on) it can only put out about 11.4v's. so my question whats the highest amp alternator that will fit it ? , and if not a escort one what car does it come from so i know which one to quote when ordering it, as while I'm changing it i might aswell upgrade it ready for the stereo upgrades i have planned.
cheers

You will need a high output, the heated screen draws massive current, I assume you added this?

80A I would say you need, a Mondeo one would fit, as I guess yours has the same "Zetec-E engine".

Amperage, not voltage

OP, you need to establish what one you already have, with that screen you will want one sutiable, the Escort Diesel (70A, IIRC?) may not be suffice.
