A series2 set up works well useing calipers, caliper carrier and discs that all bolts staight on The rear end use the S2 stuff as well inc the the back plate drums shoes and cylinders all bolts straight on Get your self some braided brake hoses the goodridge ones fit well and renew all the brake fluid for some good quality stuff like silicon brake fluid then if you spill any on paint work it won't hurt it

I'm wanting to put the rear disc convertion as well!! But still not sure! I've bought the spacers for the fitment of cossie discs at the front(heard it improves them!)

Im running reasonably standard disks and pads, ie nothing special just not your bargain basement type.

When I bought the car it looked like the brake lines had been renewed, they look like copper, is that right?!

Since putting on the new disks and pads she feels much safer to drive, there again, my old brake pads looked about 7 years old, they weren't worn down, just a congealed lump! lol

I've put 2wd cosworth discs and pads on the front of mine yes it stops a lot better but you car'nt have standered wheels on the car. the problem is the plastic nylon bushes in the bar what go's across the bulkhead if these are worn and with the twist in the bar the brakes are crap. You can go the s1-s2 way with there bars but it will interfere with the induction pipe. i am looking into doing the brakes on mine again by taking all the bars out and putting a rally kit back on,meaning i can put the servo where ever i won't to. more details later on in the year

sounds intresting John - keep us informed matey.

brakes - all i will say is a big difference between my rst and rsi !!!

rst = 300mm disc,ebc greens,standard calipers,braided brake hose's,dot 5.

rsi = cheap discs,cheap pads & 10 y/o fluid

have had my heart in my mouth a few time's - will it stop !!!! (shut eye time)

the old RST disc's were wanked big time.

think i'd better do something to the RSI - no good when racing stuff,and they beat me on braking - have to try and out drive um - bloody nova's - corsa's and saxo's

thanks for the reply's i've decided to use s2 brakes with braided hoses as this seems the most simple and effective cure!! still got plenty of nights in the garage refiitting everything after a major body rebuild all good fun tho!!

Bias box with no servo, seperate AP master cylinders plumbed up front to front and back to back, RST calipers with Black Diamond X drilled discs and Mintex 1177/2 pads up front. Home made stainless braided brake lines all round (which also run inside the car - as per our rules). Rear just has Sierra calipers and std motor factors cheapo discs and pads, with a dash adjustable pressure valve to over limit the rears if its too wet.

Pretty standard stuff really.

Hangs you on the belts when the pads are warmed up properly.

Tony
