Default anyone ever done a 2.3 conversion

as above folks im thinking of doing this at the min just wanna know the pros and cons really
how much work is needed and if the engine mounts are the same

I guess you've got an Escort, but as it's still an I4, for advice on the 2.3 I4 conversion have a hunt around the Ford Sierra Owners Club forum - several people on there have done it, and can tell you what to look out for.

you will need a chip or mappable ecu to run it,

talkabout timing. im going to see a van with the galaxy lump inside.

few probs with it the poor running when giving it large few a sec or to then power comes through.

only happens when you put the foot down and when cold.

it has a chipped ecu got slight better.

but i agree you need mappable ecu to runn sweet.

unless you can getin to the stanard ecu a remap it.

will let you more once ive seen the van.

can you have a look at what petrol tank they are using for us cheers

its mk5 . with 2000 side skirts

big bumper on the rear same on front..

looking for a sleeper while i restore my turbo xr3i.

ok mate had a look at the van.

its running stanard fuel tank its been washed out . then petrol left in for few days then rince with fresh stuff. same with lines just flush petrol for a while.

the van has a flat spot and a company called red dot can remap the stanard ecu

to give max out put.
