Default automatic rs1600i

I converted this car to automatic about a year ago for a friend of mine who is disabled, and cant drive a manual, he always wanted a red rs1600i, so we got one and converted it, it works quiet well covering over 10000 miles since we converted it, it now has a dissy, but using megajolt it can go back on coils and be mapped via a laptop, hope this answer your question, oh and my car was the white rs1600i parked next to it at the show!!

That's what I expected. Converted by someone, and not able to use the standard CPS...

Crank position sender. Black plug which sits on the gearbox bellhousing to give the crank position by a special metal on one of the teeth of the flywheel to the ignition computer which gives the ignition signal to the red twin coils

oh the gearbox sensor, its running a dissy!! though i can fit a cps on the alternator pully end using a burtons kit and megajolt ignition sytem, i done this on mine, gets rid of the unreliable sensor in the gearbox and ecu, and replaces it with a more modern mappble ecu, and replacible sensor, keeping the twin coils, other than a new sensor deep in my engine bay, looks totaly standard, top mod, this could be done on my mates auto 16i, but he cant justifyspending the cash, so a diisy it was!!
