Default New car....

Hi everyone, I know it’s no ford but the wife is getting a brand new mini soon and I’m terrified....... how the hell can I keep it looking new, I was thinking ceramic coating or just layers of wax, any suggestions ?

Lock it away in a garage and stop her from driving it.

You can do ceramic coatings yourself, only certain paints take it, I think.

I think bmw / mini push the product quite hard but if I was having it I would find an expert dealer. Really though, are you preserving it for the next owner? If you only keep it 5 yrs then just use it. Modern paint is pretty crap out of the factory.

I think the best money spent is the 3m type self healing protection films on the front and high chip areas.

It doesn't matter how much you wax , clean , polish it , I can guarantee as soon as your missus drives it within two weeks a kerb jumped out and hit her alloy and I don't no where that dents come from as I always park it next to the shittest car at Tescos .

Good luck

Paul
