We're looking to really push the concours this year at Ford Fair. We realise that we can never please every single competitor, but have taken on-board criticisms and comments from previous years and as such have appointed Kevin Flatman as the head judge and have decided to overhall the judging process.
We now require additional judges. Anyone who is interested in becoming a judge will have to have had prior knowledge and experience of concours. If you think you could fulfil the role please contact Kevin on kvflatman@aol.com for anything else please contact events.auto@futurenet.com or me on dan.white@futurenet.co.uk
Please don't turn this thread into a 'this is what's wrong with Ford Fair Concours' rant, it's about how we can take it forward, not about what's happened in the past.

Great to see the effort going into this as I am sure it will attract more entrants with it being run as the concours competitors wish.
I might stick the Escort in for a laugh...
Just need some white gloves and a forensic suit!

We're also considering doing a 'beginner's class' with people (and cars) that are new to Concours - we need to decide on the rules first but that kinda thing would be ideal for you!

I think that's a good idea actually, might get a few more people interested.
Is there a 'working concourse' bit, or is it all just the full-blown stuff? As I do wonder if a lot of people might be put off entering when there are so many trailer queens and pure show cars in there.
I just don't have the patience for such things

I'd hope that a new novice category would encourage new people to give it a go, but it is a pastime which needs dedication!

You have pm........
Beginners /novice class is a superb way to start.
Its not too serious but gives you an insight to whats involved.
Judging is not as strict and
only some parts of the car are judged.
Wont tell you what parts.
Now you,ll have to clean it all lol.
If i can be of any help to anyone who wants
to participate in this class please contact me.

For those of you who fancy giving it a go, but don't know how - We plan to do a feature about how to begin in concours. I'll be speaking to Kevin about the top tips and we'll do a 'how to' type guide!
