autosol is a no-no with chrome really due to the harsh abrasive grit within the cream. Chrome is a very soft material and such abrasive can leave scratches and swirls all over it! I always use AutoGlym's Super Resin Polish which has a lot softer abrasive.

use the meguiars metal polish in green tub mate its spot on you can get it from halfords

Sealing the finish is very important, as it will help to prevent oxidation from setting in again, thus reducing the need for future polishing. On bright metal under the bonnet we favour Blackfire Wet Diamond All Metal Sealant, as it a high temperature resistant formula that has proven itself to be very durable. It is also superb on exhaust tips and split rims too, and has given us around four months of protection per application on our own cars. More details here...
