Either one you don't want it on there
End up in a ditch if you put it on the tread.

Sorry for the bad english. No I dont mean on the tyre wall, but the tread itself. When at concours you take the wheels off for a good clean the tyre tread also must be nice black. But this must be at a safe way because after the show you will have to drive the car home.

So what stuff can you use for this?

Tyre foam would be best as it will get everywhere - but no way would I drive a car on the road with anything like that on the tread. Can only have one or the other my friend !

Thanks for the compliment. It seems it's like Mr S1 says, you cant have both. But I do see at some shows that there are people taken all four wheels of and have a very nice black tyre tread. That got me thinking.

For concours, you can use a diluted water based shine, and spray it on. The tyre will look nice and black for judging, but as soon as you drive forward when you leave, it wears off in just a few meters
