G3 Misshap
ive recently bought a GTI escort and when i first got i thought it needed a good clean as the paint looked slightly cream instead of white so i used some G3 (by hand) but i forgot to use water with it
i used 3M imperial and then topped it off with some autoglym polish , in certain lights the car looks great , bright white again and the paint almost has a slight wet look to it , but under certain lights (bright sunlight, steet lights, shade) the paint looks very scratched from me compounding it
is there anything i can do to sort this out as its annoying me now
Thanks

hi. get some 2000 wet and dry and find the scratches from the compound and slightly rub them off once done use ur G3 with a polishing machine to finish that should get rid of the marks no problem
trev if you are not too confident with the g3 you could start with something a bit easier.
first off what machine are you going to use to do this mate
second poorboys ssr2.5 will remove most of the scratches you describe but will need working hard enough to do the job ie not by hand
third pick cutting pad to do with first to remove most of the scratches then you need to really use 2 further stages to get the scratches removed and give a finer finish like sand paper you ideally would stick to ssr 2.5 then 2 then 1 then an all in one polish followed by acrylic then a wax if you really want too
i would not reccomend going from g3 to lsp (last stage product) as the finish will not really be good enough and it will show
