High phyiscal memory usage

I know a few of you are clued up on computers, but this is beyond my knowledge.
Only noticed it last night whilst playing BF4, but mum said earlier that she noticed it was very slow yesterday.
Haven't had any issues up until the past few days, ran a full scan earlier and other than a couple of tracking cookies it's clean. What could be causing this?

Seemed like firefox was the culprit, using over 7gb worth of memory. Uninstalled and had it clear out everything that was saved etc, now back in the stone age using I.E
Back to normality though.

It might be worth reinstalling firefox and checking what add-ons are running. A browser won't use a lot of resources but what's running in them will. Also check msconfig and see what you have running in the backgrouxnd. I have Firefox with no script and ad block running and I've never had an issue
