Default Pc help, what's died?

Built a new pc friday, been fine.

Left it on, came b back from the shops 30 mins later, and now all I've got is a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left hand corner of the screen an inch down.

Power off / on , it starts up, bios etc, then when you get to the bit where windows should start to load, you get the black screen and cursor?

Stuck to using my phone now, so not great for googling help!

Nope, no safe mode

Tried booting from the cd drive first, with a windows disk in, but still the same.

Pulled each stick of ram, still the same

Pulled out agfx card and used onboard..........still the same?

hard drive died ?
should go through the boot process, then if you press the del key it should go into bios.. then see if it sees a hard drive ...
might be a dodgy sata connection on the hdd or board but if you left it on and working sounds like something died and it rebooted....

If the only thing on the screen is the flashing cursor, disconnect EVERYTHING except the monitor - USB devices (inc keyboard and mouse), drives (hdd and cd). Then try powering it up again. It's not unknown for machines to refuse to pass the POST if a USB device won't respond to a reset command, usually USB hubs are the most common for that.

If the machine actually does a POST, IDs drives and memory etc, then there should be nothing to stop it booting. Failing that, aim for the CMOS reset jumper/button (again with no devices connected, then try booting it.
