What happens to your emails once you've put them in your recycling bin and then emptied it? Are they truly gone, or can i still retreive the really important email i binned in amongst the 100 or so i got rid of ?

Cheers Gaz

what e-mail client are you using?

If you have not signed off it should be still in the folder of deleted email

when you delete a file in many email programs they're actually moved to a recycle bin so you can often find them there until the recycle bin is emptied.

When you empty the recycle bin, then the messages are actually deleted.

Might be different with different programs though

window live...basically hotmail then! If its not in your "deleted" folder...then from my opinion...you wont get it back!

can you get the person to resend it?

Doubt you're going to get lucky there TBH

Can you not ask the person to resend it?

Do you have webmail with your ISP? If so, it may still be on there. I know Virgin keep a copy on Virgin Mail Servers. Could be worth a look and see.

question asked and answered..

Hotmail is a server baise email client, they use Outlook but in lame terms one that is online rather than a installed program. Your emails are stored in a server database however once you press delete they move to the deleted items or bin, and once click empty you then remove all the items from that..

i moved from Hotmail because they use a SQL database that is not secure.. and is what the press have been hacking to retrieve data and email information to publish

your emails are stored online, and are not stored on your computer. there gone mate.. the only thing stored on your PC/laptop is the browsing history.
