Default compatability qustion - software vs operating system...

The family PC downstairs has XP Home (SP2) installed on it, but only has the crappy Microsoft Works shit instlaled on it... My younger sister uses the PC for her coursework and my old dear for her lesson plans for school etc... Powerpoint, Excel, Word etc...

I have a disc here with Office 97 (all of the above prgrammes plus some more) which we got when we bought a PC many years ago with Win98 OS on it... The Office disk is speeerate tho...

Can I install this Office 97 on the PC with XP on it?

Or should I wait till I get a copy of Office 2000?

You can install Office97 on an XP machine, should work fine......I used Office97 on a Win2k machine for quite a while.

It'll work fine m8, worst case scenario like all microsoft products it'll tell you to fuck off and get a newer version of Office

I have Office 2003 lying about somewhere

Any benefits of Office 2003 over 2000?
