In the process of building a new PC - nothing special, mainly built from left over second hand parts etc, just that my machine is shit with a shit 235mhz Celeron and less than 10gb of HDD

So buying bits and bobs as I come across em and a (second hand) floppy drive just turned up (bought from ebay) so thought I would check it in this machine. Took case apart, unplugged IDE cable and power plug from the installed floppy and plugged em into the new one. Turned PC back on and floppy is recognised. Slotted a disc in (blank but has been used) and it said it needed to be formatted. So I formatted it, then dragged a pic to it, and it wrote the pic on the floppy and showed it.

Took floopy to my laptop and it said there was fook all on it

Put it back in new floppy drive and it showed the pic file. But it won't show up in either my laptop or my old dears laptop, nor in the original floppy drive after I reconnected it all....

WTF?

 

What file format did you format it in ? FAT or NTFS ??

 

I dunno mate Binned the drive now tho

 

PMSL, that'll fix it then
