find out why you keep losing your wireless mate and get a really good powerfull router when you have fixed the problem.
It's probably summat really simple knocking your wireless out.

How many ethernet cables can you physically fit into the router? If it is just one then I'd ring BT and ask for them to send you a new BT Home Hub.

You can then use that for wireless or failing that run ethernet from each port.

Quality of connection from such a long ethernet cable shouldn't be noticeable.

Umm... Try and ring BT see if they will send you a home hub for free

30m of cable around your gaff isn't great for you mate

Easy solution, if you want to stay away from wireless, would be connect one cable from your router to your xbox, then another cable from the router to one of these plugged into the wall;

http://www.homeplugs.co.uk/

Plug another into a plug outlet on the kitchen and connect to the laptop with ethernet cable.

Voila. Your xbox connected to the internet 24/7, and her laptop connected 24/7, and you can both go on at the same time. Sorted. And no running hugen lengths of cable round the gaff! I was gonna do the same thing, but then about 15meters of cat5 for free so didn't bother
