Default Virus help!! Trojan Problem

Ive got a fairly new PC with Vista on it.

I run Norton anti virus which is bang up to date.

Its detecting a trojan but cannot remove it.

Wndows Defender is the same.

The Trojan is Trojan:\win32\vundo.gen!H

I run adaware and its picking up at least 50 infections every time i use the internet.

What can I do to remove it?? NOrton want £70! to remotely clean my PC

Cheers!!

download hijack this ... it logs all your startup info so you can post it up on security forums like http://forums.spybot.info/ ... they should be able to help you diagnose any issues

How about starting the PC in Safe Mode, then scanning again. That sometimes works.

Very good online virus scanner http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/

Get rid of Norton and I recommend buying Kaspersky Internet Security http://www.kaspersky.com/

if you want a very good setup which will stop everything then i recommend the following...

superantispyware pro
and mcafee enteprise edition.

my mate had a variant of vundo virus before the virus scanning software even detected it.

then few days later was in the dat files.

Format your machine and install Windows Xp. Then download and install AVG anti virus from free.grisoft.com.
