i have a netgear router and my laptop will only connect when i'm within a few feet from the router. once connected it's fine, but as soon as i loose the connection i have to get up and stand next to the router when it will reconnect no problems.

under the "choose a wireless network" window it shows excellent signal with all the bars in green.

i've rebooted the router, and the laptop but not making a difference. it used to work fine, only started doing this recently.

 

What wireless card have you got in the laptop ??

 

i've no idea at all! i know it's not a netgear one though, maybe thats the way to go..
