I have an online shop and the standard shopping cart software that the host provides is good.

But I need to add an extra field which allows the user to input a number,

I then need that data to be transfered to the shopping cart when the "buy" button has been hit.

Then once the user has finished shopping and hits the"checkout" button, I need the information added in the extra field to be transfered to both the emails that are sent - one to the customer and one to myself - so I know what the customer has ordered.

Now, I have worked out how to get the extra field so the customer can input data, but I cannot for the life in me work out how to get that data to transfer to the checkout - It is very important that the data is transfered or I won't know what the customer ordered
