Geek Alert - realisation has set in
I am a geek
It dawned on me yesterday that I am a techno-geek I just can't get enough of silly, and not so silly, techy gadgets
I spent yesterday evening setting up a wired and wireless (when I get a PCI wifi card that it) media and internet network with my new toy
Bought a Freecom FSG-3 Network HDD/Media Server/Net Server/Mail Server 400gb model
Thing is I only have my main PC upstairs and a ghetto HTPC downstairs
But this little box allows me to extend internet connections to the downstairs PC (and wirelessly) aswell as letting me access my music and video files, along with any other documents I put on the NAS drive, from any PC on my network or via FTP over the web
SOOOOOOOOOO overkill of course
But couple that with me wanting some, or all of the following;
Laptop - windows based
Apple iBook
Apple iPod
Apple Mac Mini
Apple TV
Apple iPhone
plus another FSG storage extension (another big fat HDD)
I am a techno-geek

Appreciating the virtues of a BSD and especially OSX certainly makes you a fellow geek in my eyes Thrush
The real test is watching the Video below and wanting a iBook all the more after it... that's when its confirmed that your a geek
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uvQTTPr9Rw
Its a hack that exploits the knock sensor in the apple laptops that turns the screens off when they are dropped or suffer impact to limit lcd damage.. the hack allows you to have multiple desktops which are changed when you smack the side of the ibook (they call them smack books)
Oh and take the Geek test just to make sure

So Thrush... whats the situation are you a confirmed Geek or what ?
