I've got a Dell Inspiron 1300 and I cant seem to get it working on the net, any ideas as to how to get it connected?

 

are you trying to connect to your wireless router or to a wire modem?

 

I've took the plug out the back off my tower pc and plugged it into my laptop and it doesnt work. Bearing in mind I'm thick as shit when it comes to pc's ...but surely I couldn't get that wrong

then you should restart your computer, and it should work

 

How you connecting to the net ? If it's an ADSl connection you may need to install the software on the laptop and input username password, if ethernet going through a router or modem, once it aquires a network address it should be fine, unless the ethernet port on the pc is shagged
