OK

having a few pc probs, the google homepage wont open, I'm getting some other page iv never seen before, also whn i try to get to some sites from my favorites it send away to othere sites aswell, some are fine though its only happening on some of my links

iv tried all the things my talent allows me to do, ran the virus checker, spybot etc also tried a system restore-no luck with any of them.

anybody help me??

Anybody got a guide to a complete re-install??, as i might just do this as the pc has been running very slow recently

Back everything up that you want onto an external hard drive or dvd's etc then just reformat the pc

Righto, depending on your pc, you may have recovery disk's that came with it ? Which will allow you to completely restore back to factory settings, or, if you have a windows xp disc, you can do it from that

Best to try fixing the issue, before resorting to a full wipe and reinstall...

Firstly, what's the page that you get redirected to, when you try to visit Google? Don't put it in as a link, someone's bound to try and click on it!

Although if you're resolute about formatting and starting again, rebooting with the XP CD in the drive should, if you have the CD-ROM drive set as first boot-device (in your BIOS settings), fire off the reinstallation-process (it asks during it, if you want to format the drive).

OK lads
cheers for the replies, but I'm a complete novice with pc's all the above is like reading french to me,
iv got the discs to re-install drivers and software and stuff like that but i dont see a XP cd or a recovery disc.

the page it redirects me to was changing all the time, i was backing stuff up this afternoon and deleting old files etc and now google is coming up ok??????? but the pc is still slow as fuck,

what should i do with it now????? the window is openl lol

run hijack this and post the log file it create in notepad and I will tell you how to resolve your browser hijack issues
