Default Longshot...

But is there a way, to remote control your PC to play music?

Here's the scenario... My PC has become my music player. I rip all my CD's to it, and I play my music from the PC through my hifi, rather than from CD's in my hifi. Just far easier to find and listen to music when it's all in one place than looking through Cd's etc...

But, when I am in bed, I don't wanna keep getting up to play another track or whatever.

So, is there a way to remote control from a handheld device, what my PC plays?

Probably not, but it's just something I thought of

Depends what kind of handheld device you're talking about......if it's a phone, does it support any form of remote-desktop connection, that WinXP supports naturally? That'd be the easiest way, I'd say, if you've got a phone that supports it...

PDA, if you've got one, should also be able to use the above method...

Or, from memory, I think Windows Media Centre (or whatever it's called) allows for the use of a remote-control (although I have zero idea how it works, never really looked into it...

have a look on www.aria.co.uk the last time I looked they had a few options for remotes for pc's, I think the shuttle one had a good report.
or other option is to get a small wireless keyboard and use that,
