hi people hope someone might be able to help me.
i have windows xp sp2 and when i try to download updates my pc dies and wont boot up, i have to reload windows and then loose everything on it, what would cause this?.
i have anti virus software, spyware, adaware and firewall so what would it be?
come on someone must hav a answer please.

Ahhh, I had this a while ago with Windows Installer 3.14 (I think), whereby it's already been downloaded and installed, but then tries to download it again. If you download a program from the net and install it, does it crash ?

also not sure if windows is genuine because it came allready on on computer when i bought it
the new update checks your keygen number
then tells you your xp pro which i use is a stolen version
and then offers you a keygen number for £92
if you dont buy the keygen it leaves a blue star icon in the tool bar
and it keeps trying to contact microsoft homepage

You can do all updates up to service pack 2, this will check your cd-key. Leaving automatic updates on will get round this. After service pack 2 is installed everything requires validation.

the problem you have is not microsoft related i'm afraid. And the mere fact that a free peice of software told you that, should confirm it's crap

Got a program that stops the blue star and the silly screen when PC turned on, just need to diable auto updates pronto from then on, PM me if you like
