A few years back when my old series 1 rs turbo became too rusty to economically repair i decided to find a very clean mk3 escort shell to replace it and make a track car out of.
I spent several months looking and at about the 10th attempt found this one.
Considering it had been in daily use for almost 20 years it was one of the cleanest around, having had virtually no welding done ( only a rear pannel replaced ) and all the front end was still original.
Even now it has had only a couple of small patches here and there. To make it perfect it could do with a couple more light repairs in the future, such as the areas behind the rear wheels ( inners ).
Thats about as bad as it gets!!!
I am selling the car because i have a new project arriving soon and as such have removed the engine,gearbox,exhaust,fuel metering unit,ecu's and gear selector for this project. The rest of the car is for sale and consists of the following.
Ok, so here goes......
1985 (B) Escort 3 door shell in original black.
Full 12 months M.O.T.
V5 document included.
Genuine rs turbo bodykit (including towing eye cover!)
Full series 1 front adjustable twin anti rollbar set up.
Koni adjustable suspension all round.
Race poly bushes all round.
Series 2 brakes all round.
Rs turbo series 1 alloys with brand new tires!!
Series 2 Recaro front seats.
Sabelt 4 point harnesses.
Series 2 dashboard with custom clocks and homemade gauges/switch panel
Oil pressure, boost, fuel, water temp gauges included.
Digital charge air temp sensor and in dash readout.
Push button starter panel & external power cutoff switch.
Brand new battery ( relocated in a box behind passenger seat )
Bolt in cage with extra diagonal and door bars welded in
Rear strut brace.
Series 1 wiring loom with uprated main power cables & fuel pump wiring.
All metal radiator and fan.
Misubishi pajero bonnet scoop ( situated over air filter location )
Brand new headlamps and indicators.
Electric windows and central locking.
Aftermarket tilt sunroof. ( fitted by previous owner, shame it was done! )
New petrol tank.
Momo steering wheel.
If you are looing to re-shell an rs turbo then this is ideal, literally just drop in the engine & box, hook it all up and drive away!!! This vehicle has 12 months M.O.T!!! just been tested then engine removed. Although in daily usage (untill i got it 2/3 years ago) this car has been kept in a garage every night since 1990!!! which is a testament to its good condition.
