Wink MK3 escort with fiesta turbo engine SOLD

This was advertised on ebay but to be honest the messers do my head in.

I bought it with the intentions of turning it into a series one rs turbo replica. This was a great base to start with...Especially as it is a non sun roof model which was even more of a rare bonus. I bought the car (with its original 1.3 oil smoker engine lol) Well while buying this, a good friend of mine was needing to sell his fiesta rs turbo. I knew he had spent a small fortune on rebuilding the engine. He paid the best part of £1400 on the engine and he built it so that was just on all genuine ford parts. He works for mercedes so knows his was round a engine... He rebuilt it to standard spec but had the new standard mahle pistons very slightly skimmed to lower the compression slightly. He was in talks with ahmed bayjoo so was building it to his spec. I believe it had arp rod bolts but im not 100% sure.

He run out of interest on it and didnt even run it in. Well he needed it gone off his drive so i bought this and the mk3 escort lol. I ripped off all the good bits off the fiesta turbo and put it into the escort. Spliced the fiesta turbo loom into the escort loom but did it properly with all the fuel relay etc being under the fuse box. Had loads of rs turbos and seen some right dodgy wiring conversions. I was going to use a full mk4 escort efi loom like i have done in the past, but i wanted to keep the mk3 dash so did not warrant this route..... I have kept the ecu behind the centre console to keep it tidy. It is running the better fiesta turbo ofab ecu. I Fitted a mk4 escort efi fuel tank to make use off the uprated cossie in tank fuel pump.
I had to chop the fuel lines down to suit.. as i didnt have the correct fuel lines. Was planning on getting some proper braided ones made but now plans have changed. Anyway got it running and have been driving it a good few months. The engine has now just been run in and can be set up. Fueling needs adjusting as im sure its overfueling. It coughs a bit on start up but is better after a couple of seconds...

On to the bodywork....... Now i know it dont look great, its looked like this since i have owned it. Im quite fussy and didnt want anything that required to much work. From the outside it looks like a do,but its all easy fixes for someone with a bit of welder experience. The wings need replacing, could do with two sills(not too rotten, just look scabby and a couple of moody looking patches). The lower rear panels below the rear bumper end caps are going to need replacing too. Also in the petrol cap bit there is a little hole. Dont let this put you off though as ive seen far worse. The rear arches have seen better days too. Again i wasnt concerned with this as i was planning on fitting series one kit to it. I was just going to cut the rust out and re weld the inner and outer arch together. This would give better clearance for 17" rims. Obviously this is upto the next owner which route they go. All in all there is about £200 in pannels needed to make it fully solid again. The main parts are all solid.....floor, bulkhead, fusebox area and battery tray. Its never had a battery tray and its still mint now. As for the suspension it has uprated front shocks, but standard rears.Has lowering springs all round. The bushes arent great as they are all orginal. If it were me i would buy a complete car kit. Seen floflex for £155.

This car has just run out of mot, and has tax till the end of april. It is still registered as a 1.3 as i was only going to change it once i had painted the car white. Save keep sending the log book off. Unfortunately i am unable to keep this. I have a long term project which i have had for years (mk1 fiesta) and just dont have the time/money to do this too. I can only drive one at a time after all and the fiesta is no where near done...... As much as i want to keep this it has to go. Gutting as the price of these are going up and up so i know the chance is very slim that i will buy another. The spec of the car is

Just run in standard low comp engine using all gen ford parts.
Escort turbo manifold with cosworth 4x4 t3 with .48 exhaust housing & 360 degree bairings

Cosworth front brake setup. Discs and pads have only covered just over 1k

s2 rs turbo alloys Scorpion system with 3" tailpipe( little more suttle than 4" ones)
ofab ecu (not chipped but still goes well for what it is)
air filter
uprated cossie intank pump
s2 Pace double cappacity intercooler samco boost pipe
uprated front shocks lowered about 50mm
Diesel mk6 escort gearbox
Paddle clutch

Will be sad to see it go with there being so much potential. Please do not think you will be able to get in this and use it as a daily. It needs welding and silly bits sorting. It is being sold as spares or repair because of this.It does drive but would be better to be trailered away as it has no mot.

I have a car so i am not interested in swaps or part ex.
Im in feltham middx Tw13 postcode
£1300 ovno

thanks for looking
