a retro car, with low miles, in mint condition, with quite possibly the coolest wheels made in 90's, that dont come up for sale anymore, for a £1K. im very surprised it hasnt sold. there is a recession, and obviously times are hard, but surely its worth a grand all day long ?
if i had the cash, id have no problem giving a grand for it, and id be very happy at the price id given. at the original £2K, it was a bit optomistic, but its a rare car, in outstanding condition, on stunning wheels, so you try your luck and see what you get offered, but again, as ive said already, IMHO, at a grand with the wheels, its a cheap car.

It's a really nice car, but there is such a limited market for Orions, with the poor prices of cars generally, he's really going to struggle.
Seriously, I tried to help, I even put a link to the ad on the Orion Register Forum saying it was worth looking at, but with that attitude, why would anyone want to give you £50 for that car, let alone £1k?
I'm not really sure why I bothered because, fuck me, you don't half come across as a tosser with responses like that. I hope someone does buy the car off you sooner or later, least it wouldn't have to put up with your attitude then

I think the problem is, if it was a 1.6i Ghia or 1600E, then you might be right, but it's not, so that really limits it. As for the wheels, I would say they'd come a good way behind Hocks, Evos, old style Comps etc.
It's a really nice car, but there is such a limited market for Orions, with the poor prices of cars generally, he's really going to struggle.

of course mate... one wheel off my X5 is worth more than your orion I am sure you probably either couldnt afford a better car or not worth having for fear of it being nicked from the area you live in but i understand why you would want to defend something you clearly love so much

I have been watching this thread with interest, really like the look of the Orion.
Was hoping it would get cheap enough, preferably with standard wheels, that I could justify it.

I had a mint Orion just like yours, it needed very little work to get through a mot - approx £100. Sorry to say but after 2 months all I got was offers around the £250 mark. In the end I stripped the car and took it banger racing so at least we got some fun out of it. At the end it was weighed in. Seems a shame but the parts will be saving a better car - a Ghia i. All the parts which are not Ghia or RS are still sitting around and will soon be dumped as its just not worth selling on, ive not even had any offers on Gumtree/Preloved for 1 penny just so they go to a good home.
