nice car,but thats some drop in price from 2k.
i sold a mint mk1 orion 1.6i ghia 2 years ago for 1200,it was all there, fsh, every mot and receipt from new and completely as new, unfortunately orions arent as desireable as an xr3i/3 door escort so as cool and retro as they are theres a very small market for them, that said if i was looking for something to use everyday and something i liked id buy it,but i have 2 cars already so i dont need it.
advertise it elsewhere and stick to a price, let the buyers haggle you down.

I seriously wouldn't recommend that.
You'll get sod all for it in parts. There's virtually no demand for most bits, it's such a small market.
You'll be far better off being patient and selling it complete. Put it on ebay and pistonheads and sit tight, someone will buy it.

seriously, what do you think its worth in bits?cos id say take the wheels off, sell them and weigh the car in as thats the only way you will make money breaking a 1.4 orion.
its worth between £800 -£1100 as it is,theres no demand for doors or bootlids, interiors, non vented bonnets etc so breaking it is a no brainer.put it on ebay with a reserve of what you would take.
advertising everywhere will get it away,of all the cars i have had i have never even had 1 person calling from an advertisement on this forum so spread your net a bit wider, but dont break it.

If it was me I'd burn it rather than sell it for that! How cheap do cars have to be!
I'm so glad I don't buy and sell cars anymore.
That Sapph was very cheap as well Ben, but I guess you've got it out of the way and some cash in your hand rather than it sitting around forever like most people who are expecting unrealistic money for them.

st170 breaking
damn dont break it, if you went so far i'd drop into it
my lil un is ella (E114) so could store it in my old mans warehouse til she is 17 then her 1st car (she is 6 atm) lol
such a cool car but nobody wants to drive a 1.4 orion every day nor do they want to take up a dry space they could have a series 2 in or similar
if it was local i think i would do a deal on it straight off

Better £500 in his hand than a car he don't want though mate. There are a lot of cars hanging around at the minute as folks are asking too much for 'em.

At the end of the day, a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So far, no one is willing to pay more than £600 for it, so that's all it's worth!
If you want more, you'll have to be patient. Having been around Escorts and Orions for the best part of 10 years, I'll tell you right now that you'll make pennies breaking it, as the parts just aren't wanted from low spec cars. You might sell the doors and boot, if you're lucky, but that's about it to be brutally honest.
I've asked a few times; where have you advertised it? Put it on ebay. It's by far the biggest audience for this type of car, and might actually get you a sale. Yes you'll get a few jokers offering you silly money for it, but you stand a far better chance of selling it if you put it on there with plenty of pictures and a properly worded listing.
Calling people "wankers" just because you don't like their offer will just make people even more reluctant to buy it from you. £600 without the alloys is a bargain IMO, so advertise it for that and I suspect you'd sell it pretty easily. Then you can sell your TSWs seperately, though I don't know if you'll get what you think they're worth. If they were Hocks or old style Evos then maybe, but Stealths aren't that sought after.

I do agree with some of what Mr Wangers said, it won't make the money you want breaking it, but I would never break something like this anyway, it's far too good for that.
Might be worth a punt on E-BAY, you will get a lot of dicks wanting it for nothing but it does get a very wide audience and it only needs that one serious person.
Shame you can't store it, because it's bound to go up in value, you just don't see them like this anymore.

i ve offered £375 for the tsw stealth which i think is a good fair price but he wants £450 which i think is abit unrealistic.£375 plus the offer of £600 for the car is £975 so not that far from the £995 he wanted ???

For £6-700 you wouldn't be giving it away without the alloys.
I'm sorry to break it to you mate, but it just isn't worth much. I've been around Orions for years, I'll defend them til I'm blue in the face while others on here slate them, but even I'm not deluded enough to think they're worth any real money. Compared to sporting models, or even 3dr Escort shells, there is just virtually no demand. I paid £700 for a stupidly clean 1600E in 2009, so I don't see how your low spec car is worth anymore than that.
People were just trying to help you and offer advice. You can't get your knickers in a twist and insult them and still expect to sell the car.
If you store it for a while, values might creep up. Alternatively, you might as well just sell it to someone who is going to enjoy it, rather than leaving it to gather dust (or should that be rust?).
Maybe if you took some time and looked back at your attitude and responses to people with a clear head, you may work out why you've had no luck selling your car.

Ah well shame your not selling now.... I would've up'd my offer a bit but with the attitude that you seem to have gained toward genuine people with genuine offers I'd have second thoughts now.....

a retro car, with low miles, in mint condition, with quite possibly the coolest wheels made in 90's, that dont come up for sale anymore, for a £1K. im very surprised it hasnt sold. there is a recession, and obviously times are hard, but surely its worth a grand all day long ?
if i had the cash, id have no problem giving a grand for it, and id be very happy at the price id given. at the original £2K, it was a bit optomistic, but its a rare car, in outstanding condition, on stunning wheels, so you try your luck and see what you get offered, but again, as ive said already, IMHO, at a grand with the wheels, its a cheap car.
thats my opinion anyway
