Escort Rs Cosworth Lux small turbo For Sale
1995 N Reg Escort Cosworth Lux.
104,000 miles, Mot'd Febuary & taxed until december. Have all old mot's & tax disks
Raident Red, very bright not faded at all.
Full Black Leather interior, Aircon, Sunroof, Original ford radio & cd player, slight wear on drivers seat but not bad at all.
18" Rondell's & goodyear eagle f1 tyres, wheels were replaced with a brand new set about 2 1/2 years ago beacause the previous owner couldn't get the original set refurbished in time for our local show. these wheels are in near immaculate condition with only one very small kerb mark on a rear wheel when there were 1 week old
(less than 5 mm long)
AP Racing CP5200 Brake conversion, beleive there 330 mm discs with DS2500 Pads. Brakes were overhauled not long ago with some replacement pistons etc being purchased from AP along with New disks and pads. Car has done less than 8k road miles since this was carried out.
Fully rebuilt engine to standard spec was carried out at 95,000 miles, due to conrod failure caused by oil starvation to number 4. Brand new crankshaft was purchased from GGR for the rebuild along with a new rod to match the original codes etc. Also bought all the new Bearings, oil pump & drive, thrust washers, Clutch, timing belts, Complete "Grp A" gasket set, along with other water hoses etc all from Woodford Garage. All parts were either Ford or Cosworth.
The block was fully recon'd inc full rebore, light skim across the top of the block and was pressure tested, we also checked the line bore which was absolutely perfect. To this the engine builder fitted a new set of cosworth pistons which the had in stock. Along with fully ballancing the full bottom end.
The head had been recently reconditioned prior to the failure. With valves being replaced along with pressure testing etc. its was again fully rechecked but required nothing.
At the same time as the head was done the first time. The turbo Was replaced with a turbo technics hybrid unit. this was done at around 93,000 miles.
Loads of hoses were replaced at the time of rebuilt along with several seals in the front diff and gearbox.
Running in of the engine was done very carefully withe regular oil changes done approx every 500-1000 miles.
Car is now running an MSD stage 1 with all the paper work and printouts, they also supplier and uprated fuel pump.
Full Mongoose stainless steel exhaust system with sport cat fitted to keep the car MOT legal.
Car is fitted with uprated suspension which i believe is koni's but need to go under the car and check to confirm.
RS500 fog lamp grills fitted, Quad Headlanp conversion with recent new lenses fitted, New original front spoiler and hockey sticks also fitted and are in mint condition.
Scorpian Cat 1 alarm & immobilsier Fitted along with Tracker Retieve.
The car has had 8 Previous owners. Been with last owner for past 4 1/2 years (family Friend)
There is LOADS of reciepts to back up all the work carried out on this car.
This is a genuine Car in a very well looked after condition.
Obviously with this milage there is quite a few stonechips here and there but nothing serious to worry about.
Only bad bit that bothers me is below the rear number plate on the boot lid. Very difficult to see but think its a bit of corrosion comming from the inside. may be able to get a brand new tailgate from a friend by seperiate negociation if you felt it required it.
Finally i have taken this car in part exchange From a family friend against an Brand New Focus RS.
I have tried to be honest as i can with this car. It is sitting tucked up in my garage along with some classic RS's where it will remain until sold.
Will try and uplads some pictures tonight , failing that i will post the tommorrow.
