1996 Ford Escort Ghia Cabriolet Automatic for sale ....spares or repairs
70,000 from new,just had cambelt and tensioner changed....only 3 previous owners
Long MOT..will check tommorow exactly how long it is and revise listing

Car has developed a gearbox problem.....goes into all gears fine but when in drive will not change out of 1st gear....not sure what the problem is as i havent investigated it .Could be a simple fault but worse case would need a new auto box.......would be cheap to do a manual gearbox conversion......all you would need is gearbox,clutch and flywheel,clutch cable and the gearlever surround in the car...all these parts are readily available secondhand and very cheap.
Car has also had a very light front end knock.....bonnet still perfect,lights still intact...just front bumper cracked and front panel slightly bent but wouldnt be hard to pull it out straight again.
Car starts on the button and drives very well indeed apart from the gearbox prob.
Engine perfect
Has aircon which is quite rare for a cabriolet....works fine too
Mint electric mohair hood with NO tears or holes whatsoever...these fetch £200 on there own secondhand.....works ok but sometimes stops for a second or 2..just needs a fluid top up.
Interior is also mint....no wear on seats at all..door cards perfect too
Alloys with 4 good tyres all in good condition
Heated front and rear screens
Front fogs in bumper...NOT cracked
Bodywork in good condition but has a few minor rust scabs...nothing bad...also has a few scuffs and minor dings.
Overall a good car that needs a little tlc to get back on the road or ideal for spares or breaking.
Loads of bills and mot's.......genuine low mileage car that just needs some love and attention!
Can deliver for a pre arranged fee as i have own trailer.
Looking for £450ovno.....its worth a lot more in parts!!
