For sale is my 1997 5 door Escort Gti in moondust silver.
I have had the car for the past 4 years and i have spent thousands on her.
The car has just turned 89,000 miles with full service history. Since i have had the car i have changed the oil every 6 months and washed it every week.
Last year i had the head gasket and cam belt done by ford at cost of £600! The engine is a 1.8 16v Zetec item with 150BHP.
The engine has the following upgrades:
2.0 zetec throttle body that has been polished.
2.0 zetec camshafts
K&N Apollo cold air intake system
Ashley 4-2-1 exhaust manifold wrapped in thermo-tec exhaust wrap.
Mangnex cat-bact exhaust system with life time garantee.
Dastek Uni-chip
Ford racing 8mm spark leads
NGK plugs
The car was mapped by Engine advantages with grapch and reciept.
In the last year the lower arms was changed for items from the Escort van has they have stiffer bushes as well as new drop links. At the same time i fitted Weitec GTN coil-over kit at a cost of £600. The car also has am original Ford strut brace that has been poweder coated black.
All this has made the car handle extreamly well.
The car currently has ST200 alloys in vgc. The rear tyres are almost new but the fronts wll need to be replaced in the 1000 miles or so.
The brakes have been upgraded to 260mm RS2000 spec items. The front has EBC Turbo Grooved discs, EBC Greenstuff pads and Goodridge braided lines. At the time of fitting the brake fluid was flushed and replaced with dot5. There is still loads of life left in the discs and pads.
I have done loads more to this car such as Projector head lamps, blue lit switchges and dials, bonnet struts, stealth shelf with Alpine Type R comps and loads more.
Now for the bad the bits.
The reason i am selling the car is because some tried to steal it and i have now lost heart in the project. The front two locks have been damaged but the drivers side still works. All the locks stll lock and unlock via the central locking and the double locks also work as normal. The only way to get into the car is through the drivers side Which isnt really that much of a problem. The red key is still present.
There is a crack in the front bumper but i do have a brand new bumper in prima ready to be painted to go with the car.
A am asking for £1500 as this is a very tidy car depsite the damage that can easily be repaired.
If the full asking price is paid then i will add 12 months M.O.T.
