Escos Replica
Here we have a Escort Cosworth replica, well sort of, it is actually a 1991 Escort Popular 1100.
Pictures below make it almost presentable, sorry to disappoint, it isn't.
The body kit is badly fitted and the paintwork is very poor, the plastic bonnet is a different colour to the rest of the car, the rev counter doesn't work, the petrol gauge doesn't work, there is quite a bit of rust on the tailgate, the interior is falling apart, the windscreen is cracked, no Tax/MOT, etc etc. I think you get the picture.
I bought this car over 2 years ago for £1700 of Ebay (say no more), and I travelled to Cumbria to get it, although it wasn't anywhere near as good as described I still bought it as it had potential. I bought it for my son to learn to drive in, he quickly lost interest in driving and the car and it has been sitting slowly or quickly rusting away, the paintwork has also been keyed by some moronic kids (if they do that to a tatty replica imagine what they would do to a genuine immaculate Escort Cosworth, one reason why I haven't bought one yet).
Realistically I do not see this as a viable road car, it is far too tatty for that now, but it still has potential as a track car, fit a decent RS Turbo engine or do what I intended to do, fit a YB and convert to RWD with a Sapphire transmission tunnel, I happen to have one I'll throw in with the deal.
There are some redeeming features, it was owned by a guy that worked at the TVR factory in Blackpool and he fitted TVR door opening solenoids and buttons, the outside opens by pressing a concealed button under the door mirror and the interior buttons are in the lower dash, this set up is not cheap. There is one good leather Recaro and one tatty one, think they came from a XR4i. The 4 spoke RS steeing wheel is worth a bit, I have the centre cap somewhere.
Good Points:-
Can be insured as a classic car.
Morrette quad headlights.
Delocked with TVR style door opening buttons.
Good set of Sapphire Cosworth lattice wheels with legal tyres.
Sierra Cosworth front brakes.
Koni suspension front and back.
Stainless exhaust (very loud).
No sunroof for racing purposes.
Escort Cosworth dash.
Lightweight plastic bonnet.
RS 4 spoke steering wheel.
Registration valued at £400.
I'm preparing my Lotus for racing so I need the room, I'm looking for £500 to drive the car away, would be a good project for a young driver or someone looking for a cheap track car. I think it is easily worth £500 as I have today received a valuation from Regtransfers.co.uk and they have valued the registration at £400, will provide email proof. Anyone called Jed?
There must be someone brave enough to undertake this project, if not I'll MOT and tax the vehicle, sell the registration and then break it up.
Any takers? If so ring David on 02083516491 or pm me, please no offers or timewasters, thanks.

Yes, it is sold (I bought it).
I have used the body panels for a race car I'm building, so if you are interested in any of the other bits, I might be able to help.
