Im having troubles getting a gearbox into a mk3 escort, and looks like its because i have the original mounts (4 speed gearbox) and im fitting a 5 speed!

I need the engine mount if it is different to a series2

rear gearbox mount complete including the plate that bolts to the chassis, the rubber mount, and the y shaped bar from the rubber mount to the gearbox

the metal 'bar' that goes from the 4bolt mount on the front of the box, to the rubber mount on the arb

Would like to buy these all from the same person, cash waiting

5 speed box fits in without any mods mate, whats the problem your having? i removed my 4 speed and fitted a 5 speed and it was very tight but it didnt need any different mounts etc

not 100% sure but i think early mk3s with 4 spped boxhave a different shaped inner wing.. they dont accept 5 speed box unless a bit of modding is done

your right but they do accept the 5 speed as mine is a 82 escort and i converted it but you have about 5mm clearance unlike the 5 speed ones, i put mine in with the engine is one but i have to lower the engine to get the box out

sounds like a fook on lol...thought there was something about them, glad u cleared it up so as not to confuse the lad
