Default ECU

My brothers 92 model 2ltr twincam 4x4 estate has a few running probs, had the map sensor changed and needs the ecu reset apparently. Can this be done yourself or is it a dealer job. Also where is the ecu situated on this car? I havn't seen the car yet but was looking for some info before i see it. Also is there anything else that can cause poor starting (can take up to about 10 mins) along with absolutely no power and it sometimes cuts out for no reason and drinks loads of fuel.

Cheers Johnny

The ECU is loctated behind the main glovebox, you could take it to a ford dealer or
just un-plug the ECU then plug it back in and it should "re-learn" from various drivin habits, then it should be ok.If not then its got a limp mode so you can still drive it.......to your ford dealer!
