ive got a td escort on a r reg its done seventy odd tho which is very good for the year ive checked the old mots to make sure that it was origional too,right the problem is that when driveing it theres quite a bit of smoke and it seems more blue than black it does seem a little sluggish and has problems starting from cold , ive done the normal things change diesel filter air filter run some injector cleaner through it , and no difference, i was thinking maybe the pump timing needed advanceing a few degrees
any help or ideas would be greatfull

sorted it now it was..... pump timing was out 1 tooth the sensor on the pump was also out ..there were no seals in the pump feed pipes heater plugs were knacked and it needed a bit more injector cleaner, she runs as sweet as a nut now
and ive made myself some white dials its looking well good now just got some sideskirts watch this space my baby will be georgious
