As for them not being strong enough , a 5 series with 5 people in it will be heavier than that van with a few bits in anyway so theres no problem there at all. I can safely say ive seen bmw's full with passengers without the wheels crumbling to pieces so no need to worry id say.
God for bid if you put a fully ladden twin axel caravan on the back of the BMW with the 5 people in it
Thats scary stuff that mate. I wouldnt like to even think of the consequences if you dared to fill the tank to the brim too.
Thats got to have reraly puch these wheels over the limit

ive done 150 miles today and they haven't turned to dust.

Steering seems lighter (new tyres are blown up correctley)
Ride seems smoother.

and i haven't kerbed them ...... yet.

The weight of the car vs van is not the issue, it's the gvw of both vehicles, which is circa a tonne at a guess.
What's carried is not the point.
That van is subject to lower speed limits than a car on NSL roads when it's empty just the same as when it's fully laden, unladen weight is not the issue, for example.

Give you credit for doing it, would look better with the 19's, but then even the M3's look crap with 18's on them.
Wouldn't like to pay for the 19's tyres too often, like you say.

As for MOT, won't be a problem, police with use and construction etc may well be a different matter.

Would only be an issue on a class 7 MOT but is really no no, but hay he's not the only one running on car wheels. My Cosworth Transit is not only running on car wheels but 4 stud with adaptors.

that yellow one looks photoshopped to me, not a dig by the way.

Fair play for being different with the wheels, they dont look bad, but do look a little lost imo

Looks pretty good... Wonder if the wife would mind if i swapped the wheels from my Sky van for her B-M wheels??!
You a Sky engineer mate? How come its not all done up in Sky colours? If your TM is a bit slow, he might not notice when its time for your van check...

5 series wheels your a joke that van can weight 2.7 tons round a córner thats 2.7 tons forced to one córner plus the córner speed forces And on a more serious note for other drivers you Are NOT INSURED as your not using load bearing alloys if i has your reg id report you to the Dvla thanks

looks fine, no probs there, are they genuine BMW mv2s , reason i ask is i bought some reps for my old 330 and they were fine, until i rubbed a kerb with the face of the drivers rear 5 mph whilst parralell parking and the wheel literally discintegrated and broke two spokes, when south west tyres (who i bought them from) looked at the wheel they said they will cease selling them as the alloy is far to soft and could be dangerous. genuine bmw ones are solid enough though

Wheels and tyres as a package need to be load bearing on all commercial vehicles or it invalidates any insurance claim there be due to incorrect running gear. Thats why van alloys are more expensive

actually yes they do as its not what equipment has caused the wheels to snap its the weight of the equipment.

A good friend of mine had 9 15" subs in a mk2 granada about 10 years ago and had wheels made to order from the states - both back wheels cracked after a year or two.

Sounds like poor quality wheels to be honest if they cracked due to only 9 15" subs. A boot full of shopping would weigh more than that.

I quite like the other van with the beemer wheels on it, thinking outside the box is always good !

ffs!!!

i think it looks good.

I've seen loads of vans on car wheels - usually with car tyres and steel wheel bolts which is obviously much more dangerous!

about transit sport, they are propper transit alloys not st wheels!

those ppl who dnt like these types of vans shud just get real and get a life. if u dont like them dont reply simples!!!

and thanks to the guys who do like our vans. and its nearly there and im getting a bull bar for the van yes.

Sherlock holmes has got nothing on you... You'd make a great detective. I'm sure if he wanted to see perfect reflections, and the wheels sitting perfectly, he would just look out the window mate.

Sell the c20let and fit a z20let, it will be a lot easier and still good for decent power.

im loving the fact that people are still commenting on my van.

Unfortunatly, i had to sell it eairler this year, The guy who bought it off me said he loved the look, but he was going to put some 19" X5 sport alloys on it. The spigot rings i had made will live on...

Chip. i did about 12000 miles on em, they were fine.

Surely when you sold it, it couldnt possibly have still been on the wheels that the PF experts said would break?
