The missus lost her remote key fob, so she's now using the basic standard spare. It doesnt have the remote central locking buttons etc.

I have bought a new remote fob and got the blank key cut from Ford (£50). I understand the new fob needs to be programmed/chipped to match the factory setting/immoboliser.

Can this be done myself, at a garage or is it only Ford who can do it. Someone said its about another £110 which seems ridiculous price.

You will need two other keys, one being the master key, in order to programme a new remote. If you don't have these, like myself, then you will have to pay between £80 and £100 for Ford or a qualified lock smith to do it for you.

Ive only one key and I'll have to get tihs done myself. Hate giving Ford money

 

mate my brother had similar problem, all you need to do is use the key reprogram sequence, which i have at home so i will put up a link when i get home.

i cant get my doors to open with the central locking - i have just replaced the batteries so its not the key fob. i cant open the drivers door with the key (it's broke!) and when i open the passengers side with the key the alarm goes off - can anyone help??
