what are the biggest wheels you can fit on an mk5 escort?

 

ive seen 19s on an escort but thats just more hassle than its worth. u could go to 18s with a bit of rollin or cuttin on the archs, but best to go for 17s so u dont ruin handling. and lower it obviously, otherwise ull be drivin about in a monster truck.

 

without arch mods...... 17's really

you could have 18's at a push with tyhe correct offset and tyre profile but you'd best have decent shocks and springs or it will rub

i have 18's with a 60mm drop and have had to have quite abit of arch rolling to eliminate any rubbing

 

i was advised to drop the car 60mm using pi lowering springs and have no bigger than 16's as the arches will rub and ull lose the good handling. this is the way il be doin my escort
