The gliders flew at a max of about 1000ft, the parachutes we were wearing needed 1000ft to open propperly and slow you down to the extent you break your legs (and every other bone)....upon landing
Hehe but that's what makes it exiting and more fun
This is also why I was often left alone to setup the exsplosive charges and the home made claymore mines in the military
