I cant exactly remember but yeah thereis a bulb holder which should not be removed, IIRC its the power supply for the current invertor for the electro luminescent dials (I had to strip mine to replace the invertor )

BTW there is actually a bulb in the clocks also, onthe other side which lights the odometer..

If his guages arent working its gonna cost him about 70 quid for a new invertor setup
