Cheers everyone for your replys, as ubove I wedged a thin 2" bilster in the starter motor recess I might even make up a home made tool to do this properly because it works so well, it locks up the crank shaft pulley completely so you can put some proper force on that bastard bolt.

Mind you it still needed a 18" braker bar with a 3 foot pole extension on the end of it to free the foooker.
