Nicole, its my belief that a positive mental attitude encourages the body to correct such imbalances, i personally believe those imbalances are as much a symptom as a cause, but then again like most of us on here im not a qualified psychiatrist and may be wrong (in fact it seems like even the pros get it wrong 90% of the time) so like any other thread all one can do is post what one feels is correct.

I know someone who was on drugs for years and it did no good at all, then one day she just put them down and said "right thats it, i start afresh from here" and made a go of her life and has never looked back.

Seems to me like its worth a try, i dont like the concept of drugs, far too many side effects as they are generally prescribed by people who dont know enough about the REAL effects of them.

I think he should just have a wank to cheer himself up, then take his girlfriend out for a night on the town or to the picture or something and never look back.

I figure he has nothing to lose by trying the the "positive approach" if it doesnt work for him and he ends up a sad and depressed emotionally scarred loser then he isnt really any worse off than he is now is he?
Where as if you go down the drugs route it can REALLY mess you up based on what ive seen happen to people.
