Had this Fiesta mk6 for a little while now, few years maybe. It was passed our way after the old owner, my grandfather passed away. He bought it from the local ford dealer here, Bristol Street Motors, and it was low mileage and has a full service history. Runs quite well. It is a 1.25 16v, which throws out at standard 75hp, or rather that's what they say it is anyway. I hear it is the Yamaha tuned engine, it is not so bad. Performance wise I have not done too much, but I am working towards getting the car supercharger ready.
Ok so I have done a few things to it, and there is more planned in the near future. I have done the paint job, which needs touching up. When started it I ran into some bad luck with timing issues, and the great british weather, plus the paint firms overwhelmingly bad employees sending RFU paint out, which was not RFU, all this put a hamper on the finishing of the paint work so it never got a clear coat, which will be matt. That is planned soon as I get more paint, I will have to prep it all again, etc etc. There will be metallic flakes involved, at different colours, shapes and sizes.
Not so long back I did a small project in making a, totally enclosed, cold air feed box to attach to the original snorkel at the front of the car, with a cone filter inside and 60mm cold air feed leading to the original cold air feed pipe connected to the throttle body that has been bored to 50mm. Ordered in a MSD hyper power blaster coil from pumaspeed, with some custom built Magnacor Kv85 leads to give the ignition system a boost. Adding an aftermarket Malpassi, rising rate, fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail, has upgraded fuel delivery to the rail, and there is a stainless 200cpi high flow catalyst still to be fitted along with a custom exhaust, cat back system, being built on the car in the future. Have some bonnet vents to add, to aide in heat dissipation when the super charger is being fitted. Will need to fashion a frame or brackets out of the metal flat bars I have here. I have alu, and mild steel but the steel is very thick and weighty, so may buy some more alu. Have a remap on the mind, or a few, maybe a bespoke tune when the supercharger is on would be more suitable.Kent cams may very well be an item to be added in the future but the prices are astronomical just for the parts, and fitment is not something I would be 100% sure of doing myself, and the cost for labour would be in the 100's. The cams would definitely compliment the new sports cat, exhaust system, high flow air intake together with supercharger. I have done all the work on the car myself up to now, except the drive shafts that were fitted new by the local mobile mechanics. I have a drive torque, twin friction, performance clutch to be bolted in when needed, supplied by the lads at larkspeed.
The installation of ST spec discs, and painted calipers on the front, with performance drilled and grooved format gives the brakes a sharper feel, as with the drum to disc conversion on the rear axle. It stops very nicely. Have a, 2 way, viper 480xv alarm system, with dual zone proximity sensor to keep it safer.
I have heard so many people talking about dropping another lump into it, but that isn't all that cost reducing, and I find all this tinkering around quite enjoyable. I know it will never be a beast, but a few extra horses is what I am looking for, a long with enhanced drivability, and pleasure. It's coming along, slowly.
The AMR500 mini roots style, positive displacement SC. These are apparently on the scoobie doo's. These are penned to be universal use, and can be used on cars with stock internals to provide 5-15psi with different pulley combo's.
