Bit worrying...
I think the Quaife or route is probably wise. At least if you bomb any shafts/cvs, you know exactly what you need to replace rather than custom or faffing around trying to get close matches.
I say that knowing I'd completely contradict myself as I've had enough of splitting boxes so would probably go the awkward route
