What's even more worrying, it was a Ford dealer that got the timing wrong!!!

I'd definitely be checking your camshaft timing.
Hi Gazzonator, I came across a post about timing belt marks. Went to do mine last week when the mark lines up on the crank and cam marks are advance by 1.5 teeth. I read (once all timing marks are lined up you should rotate it quarter turn clockwise and then quarter turn back to reset the variable valve timing?) Did this work for you and may this fix my problem?
Thanks for your time ceod
