on a diesel it can run on feeding off oil in the inlet so in theory the blown turbo could have left oil in the system and it has run off that. The old mk1 golf diesels used to consume their own oil and detonate so it could be that.
I have heard about that, but I wouldn’t have been able to turn it off if running off it’s own oil. The air pipes for turbo run under the car and was left to drain over a week before the turbo was fitted. Still doesn’t explain it not starting now. Forgot to mention that when it took off like the clappers and I turned it off there was no clouds of smoke or anything. Just a big line of suit on the road. Thanks
