the reason it will not start is because there will be air in the fuel system.you have to prime the filter on the tdci mondeos. you need either a hand primer or sum way of sucking the fuel through the filter untill it come out the feed.
i will say thats I had the same problem after doing a leak off test I got mate to jump start me after about twenty minutes of on off cranking and holding pedal to the floor and then letting off slightly the full down when start it is fine now although I have an injectors fault which I knew already all good
